Buying happiness…

Filed under: Uncategorized — prothro @ 3:02 pm

ATTENTION: This just in: apparently you can actually buy happiness.

And happiness is bargain priced these days.

Just 58 cents.

Yes, cents.

Two quarters, one nickel and three pennies.

Or if you prefer eleven nickels and three pennies.

Or you can just fork over a dollar and receive change from the cashier. Commerce is a brilliant thing.

DISCLAIMER: This is not life-altering, heart-swelling or eternal joy-producing happiness–but it is smile on your face every morning happiness.

DISCLAIMER: This may not create happiness for everyone.

So do you want to know the happiness I bought?

For 58 cents?

A perfect little green mug. I love mugs. I love mugs that fit perfectly in the curves of my hands and hold tea. I really love mugs that fit in the cup holder of my car so I can take my tea on errands with me. I’ve never had a mug that fit. Now I do. And it was 58 cents. That makes me extra happy. The color even matches the label of my favorite tea, White Orchard by Mighty Leaf. I think it’s fate.

It is the perfect way to wake up, a steaming cup of White Orchard in my little green mug.

As I write, I’m also starting to think that maybe this is a little more than smile-producing happiness. I feel a little bit of heart-swelling after all.

If you’d like to buy some happiness of your very own, head over to IKEA , the land of happiness.

And not sure if you’ve discovered these two other little aspects that will make you love this mug even more:

    1. It’s designed to fit perfectly in the cup holder in your car when you’re taking your coffee to go!
    2. Like most IKEA mugs, it has little divots in the bottom rim of the cup allowing water to drain off the top while it dries in the dishwasher!
