google reader.

If you’re reading blogs and not using an RSS reader, cut that out! Life could be so much easier. With an RSS reader, you never hop to a website to see if there’s something new only to be disappointed. And you never miss anything. And you save time, because it’s all organized for you in one happy place.

I prefer google reader, since I generally prefer everything google. To set it up, go to, and sign up for an account. If you have gmail, just use your login for that. If not, this is a good time to switch to gmail. It’s better than whatever you’re using. I promise.

Once you are logged in, click this little button: and then start adding your favorite blogs, websites etc. You can add anything to google reader that has an RSS feed, which stands for “Really Simple Syndication” or sometimes “Rich Site Summary”. You can tell if a website has this, because there will be a small icon on it that looks like this . It should appear in the search bar. So that’s it. You add all the websites you love. You can organize them by selecting the “manage subscriptions”  item under the Subscriptions menu on the left.

Then all you do is log onto google reader and it shows you what’s new. All in one place from all the websites you love.

Here are some possible websites to add to your RSS reader:

1. If you LOVE food like me, this one.

2. If you LOVE photography like me, this one.

3. If you LOVE funny like me, this one.

Anything you think I should put on my RSS reader? Please, do tell.

  1. They post really frequently, which can be overwhelming, but I love the blog . I get a ton of ideas from there!
