The Best Week(s) Ever!

It is now time for your feature presentation.

The past few weeks have been exceptionally wonderful. First, I got to visit Arizona. Evan had a business trip so I tagged along and got to visit family and friends. We got to play with my brother and sister-in-law and their precious baby Colin. Being the aunt that lives two states away, I had to take full advantage of all opportunities to chase him with alligator arms and hear his precious laugh. I also got to see many dear old friends. Some were just back from Israel or South America, and now had families of their own. I got to go with Lynsey, my precious maid of honor, to try on wedding dresses for her upcoming Bahamian wedding. I also got to cook Shabbat dinner with Ariel, meet Brad’s wonderful wife and eat Oregano’s with Kristin and Josh, a rare moment where the company outshined the pazookie!

I also got to see my wonderful parents and take a trip North to Sedona with them. Despite the rain, we enjoyed some amazing views. The theme of the trip really became food. We had In-N-Out, Richardson’s and all the other tantalizing treats that only grace out palettes once or twice a year. Awesome trip.

This past week was equally amazing. Friday night I went to the Domain for Lane’s bachelorette party. It was a lovely evening of wine, roses and chauffeurs. then I came home to Lone Star Marina and Co. who all came in for a weekend of hanging out in the new house. the weekend had all the essential elements: 42, grilling out, croquet, movies, and pumpkin carving. We slept 11 people at our house! So it was definitely a breaking in of sorts. It was great to all be together hanging out again. There are not words to describe the blessing the men of the LSM are, and they pick amazing wives as well.

The LSM exodus marked the arrival of another guest, my sweet pregnant Laura, who came to play in Austin. We spent the vast majority of our time going to cute baby shops which was far more fun than I ever would have imagined. I also now understand why babies are so expensive. You can accessorize babies to no end, this was one of my personal favorites.

We spent a large portion of our week with the newest additions to Austin, the Rocks. We shared dinner five days in the last week, which is impressive by any standards. Friday we all got together with the PA for a movie night, featuring sour apple cotton candy, pizza, a star-studded sky, blankets and Hot Fuzz. Quite the evening.

Saturday we celebrated my birthday and learned Spanish with to my new toy, Rosetta Stone, I may or may not already be addicted. We celebrated again with a delicious meal at the PA and then again last night at the Oasis.

It was awesome. (more pictures forthcoming)

  1. I’ll say this. Anything which purports to control the urination of a baby boy is snake oil. It will fall off, and you will end up cupping your hand to prevent being showered.
